It's got a strong taste to it if you use too much. Make sure you don't get blackstrap molasses for this recipe though. Dark, unsulphured molasses works best here :)

Yes, you can use any non-flavored oil such as safflower oil. If you're in a pinch though, I don't think olive oil would effect these cookies TOO much but you might get a bit of an aftertaste so it's best to use a flavorless oil.Alexandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09357181032652742977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5892763899574377769.post-11474047120904695772009-12-30T23:36:30.410-08:002009-12-30T23:36:30.410-08:00what is molasses?? and can i use any other oil tha...what is molasses?? and can i use any other oil than canola oil?Nehahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05038668696737752640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5892763899574377769.post-77690849282146117692009-12-28T19:13:47.397-08:002009-12-28T19:13:47.397-08:00these look so special...I love the bow too.these look so special...I love the bow too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5892763899574377769.post-62692772702303947092009-12-28T17:16:08.504-08:002009-12-28T17:16:08.504-08:00gosh, megan, please please PLEASE make them. they ...gosh, megan, please please PLEASE make them. they are scary good. they are stack up to a big glass of milk good. and so wonderfully spicy. :)Alexandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09357181032652742977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5892763899574377769.post-56382860906617381722009-12-28T16:32:52.362-08:002009-12-28T16:32:52.362-08:00I'm definitely saving this recipe for next yea...I'm definitely saving this recipe for next year.
